Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 October 2026
The short version: snugcode’s hosted service is free and provided as-is. You run the agent on your own machines with your own AI keys, and you’re responsible for what you let it do. snugcode Cloud servers can’t be bought yet: a reservation is free and commits neither of us to anything.
1. What these terms cover
These terms apply to the hosted service at snugcode.dev: the website, GitHub sign-in, the relay that connects your phone to your machines, the snugcode agent web app served from /agent/, and snugcode Cloud reservations (together, the “Service”). By signing in or using the Service you agree to them.
The snugcode client (the daemon you install on a PC or cloud runner, and the web app’s source code) is open-source software licensed under the GNU AGPL-3.0. That license, not these terms, governs your use of the code itself.
2. Your account
- You sign in with a GitHub account. You need to meet GitHub’s minimum age and follow GitHub’s terms.
- Keep your devices, sign-in, pairing PIN and machines secure. Anyone who controls them can use your agent.
- You can sign out of every device or delete your account at any time from your account page.
3. The agent runs on your machines, with your keys
- The coding agent runs on computers you control (your PC, or a cloud runner in your own GitHub Codespaces or container). It can read and change files and run commands there, within the permissions you grant.
- You are responsible for what you approve, including commands, file changes, pushes and pull requests, and for any costs they cause.
- AI models are used through your own provider accounts and API keys (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and others). Their terms and prices apply; snugcode doesn’t resell model access or add a markup.
- Cloud runners on GitHub Codespaces run in your GitHub account and use your Codespaces quota and billing.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t use the Service to:
- break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- attack, probe or overload the Service or other people’s systems, or get around its limits (for example, rate limits, or the limits of 20 machines and 3 cloud runners per account);
- use the relay as a general-purpose proxy, file host or messaging service for anything other than connecting your own devices to your own snugcode machines;
- access accounts or machines that aren’t yours.
We may suspend or remove accounts that do, and we may block traffic that threatens the Service.
5. snugcode Cloud reservations
- snugcode Cloud servers are not for sale yet. You can reserve a plan to tell us you’d like one. No server is created and nothing is charged.
- A reservation is non-binding for both sides. Plans, specs, regions, features and prices shown are planned and may change before launch.
- Before anything is charged we’ll contact you (by the email you gave us, or on GitHub) with final terms, and you decide then whether to order.
- You can change or cancel your reservation at any time on your account page.
6. Availability and changes
The Service is free and provided on a best-effort basis, without an uptime guarantee. We may change, limit or discontinue parts of it. Because the client is open source, you can always run your own relay instead.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. AI agents make mistakes: review their work before you rely on it. To the extent the law allows, snugcode is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data, lost profits, or costs from your AI providers, cloud providers or the actions you approved, and our total liability for the free Service is limited to USD 50.
8. Trademarks
“snugcode” and the snugcode mascot are trademarks of the project. The open-source license doesn’t grant rights to them; see TRADEMARKS.md.
9. Ending
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend access for breaches of these terms, or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where reasonably possible.
10. Changes to these terms
We’ll post changes on this page and update the date above. For significant changes we’ll give notice on the website. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without prejudice to consumer-protection rules of the country you live in. Questions: hello@snugcode.dev, or GitHub issues for anything that isn’t private.
